PLYMOUTH -- The family of Rev. H.L. Place, of Shelby, is sorely afflicted. His daughter is low with typhoid fever. His younger son, Roy, died of the disease and was brought to Plymouth for burial on Tuesday. His former classmates in our schools sent many flowers to the grave as a mark of their love and respect.
Later in the same paper ...
Roy Place, son of Rev. Place of the M.E. Church, died Monday at 12. He was buried at 2 o'clock yesterday. The deceased was an exemplary young man of about 17 years of age. His death is a sad affliction to his parents. The funeral took place yesterday and was largely attended, a great many friends and relatives from abroad being present. Rev. Hagerman of Wellington, Rev. McConnell of Shiloh, Rev. Hoadly of Plymouth and several other ministers officiated at the funeral.
